| The fireworks started at 4:30 in the afternoon before we went out to dinner. They got louder and louder as the night went on. At midnight they went crazy for an hour. These reminded me of the lantern we set off a couple years ago on Christmas that the Daynes gave us. Its a good thing everything here is damp. I thought there would be alot of fires. We watched the news the next morning and a church and an H & M store caught fire. They also set 40 cars on fire in Utrecht. We live next to a elementary school and they were setting them off in the playground. We could feel our apartment vibrate. We could smell smoke inside our apartment. They finally tapered off and quit at 3 a.m. |
