Last Sunday

Elder and Zuster Robison with Marcia Jongkaas one of our Jovos.  She has been so nice to us. She even cooked us dinner when we came over to home teach her.  We also spent Christmas day with her and her family.  We will really miss her.

We decided to drive to Groningen so that Jenny could see where her grandma grew up. We drove over the afstuitdijk.

The North Sea is on one side and the Ijsselmeer is on the other.

The Martinitoren which I climbed to the top 42 years ago.

I think this is the house where my mom grew up.  I had a picture of the old house and this is the closest one on this street.

Hopefully this is it.

Last Senior Outing

We had our last Senior outing.  President and Zuster Scheltinga gave a great seminar on improving our marriages. The Olivers introduced themselves and we said our goodbyes and testimonies.  Sister Lister and her girls provided a great lunch for us so we were able to say goodbye to them too.
Elder Jansen, Elder and Zuster Scherf, Elder Van der Put, Zuster and President Scheltinga, President and Zuster Bunnell, Zuster Jansen.

Elder and Zuster Oliver, Zuster Arden, Elder Robison, Zuster and Elder Caldwell. Lots of great friends here and we are really going to miss them.  The time has gone by too fast.

Kasteel De Haar Utrecht

This is the Kasteel De Haar in Utrecht.
Of course it was raining when we got there.

It has a mote around it.

This is the largest and most luxurious castle of the Netherlands. It was entirely restored and partially rebuilt in the late 19th century. It is on 135 acres.  It is where the Van Zuylen family lived in the summer.

They have stature of family members throughout the castle.

These are the bedrooms.

Sunken bathtub.

This is where the children ate.  Notice the hagelstag.

This is the church.

The Hague Temple

The Hague Temple which is really in Zoetermeer which means Sweet Lake.

We got a picture just before sundown. Temple conference is the day after we get home.  Sorry we had to miss it.
